Rény Manwaring

Born to artists and dreamers, raised by builders and doers, I was blessed with a unique combination of lifestyles.  Having lost my parents tragically when I was young, I grew up with my dad's brother's family as my own.  This experience has been the catalyst for all things beautiful in my life.  I have learned to find elegance in the raw and passion in the journey.

I was fortunate to begin my design career with Saddleback Interiors in Corona Del Mar, California in 1999.  I gained invaluable experience in every stage of the design process while working mostly on model homes during a prodigious building boom. After having my first child, I ventured out on my own continuing to work in Orange County, LA, and San Diego, allowing me the flexibility of being a mom and staying creative.  I have worked on a referral basis ever since.

I find the most satisfying projects and clients have a craving for the uncommon, and adventure for bespoke pieces.  Sketching a custom piece of furniture to specially suit the tastes of my clients is incredibly rewarding.  Seeing it in their homes fully realized by master craftsman is the ultimate expression.

More recently I've heard the siren call to paint, beginning in acrylics and watercolors and working into oils.  I find people to be the most compelling subject matter, and the most challenging, so naturally I'm drawn to the challenge.  Always intrigued by the art people request for their homes, I find I get to know my clients in a rare way.
